KATHUA, Aug 16: Police team of Police Post, Hatli led by SI Verinder Singh during vehicle checking today seized one truck bearing Registration No. PB10CM 1639 and recovered 20 kilograms of Poppy Straw in illegal possession of Mohd Ramjan S/o Idu Shah R/o Malerkotla district Sangror, Punjab.
Police has registered a case FIR No 299/18 U/s 8/15 NDPS Act against him. He has been arrested and police has started investigation in this regard.
Meanwhile, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba arrested one drug peddler and recovered one gram of heroin (Chitta) from him.
Police said a team of Bari Brahmana Police Station headed by Inspector Ravinder Singh Rakwal, SHO Bari Brahmana and under the direct supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana laid a naka near Sarore Adda and intercepted one person on suspicious ground. During frisking one gram of heroin was recovered from his possession.
He has been identified as Ajay Kumar , S/O Hans Raj of Gole Pulli, Talab Tillo, Jammu. He was taken into custody and a case FIR No 148/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at P/S Bari Brahmana against him.
