Police arrests 2 drug peddlers, seizes 16.27 gms of heroin

UDHAMPUR, Nov 24: Udhampur police arrested two drug peddlers in two separate cases and recovered 16.27 grams of heroin from their possession.
Police party of Police Station (PS) Ramnagar led by SHO Ramnagar, Inspector, Pushpinder Singh under the supervision of Additional SP, Udhampur, Anwaar Ul Haq and SDPO Ramnagar, Dr. Bhishm Dubey during patrolling in Main Bazar of Ramnagar town apprehended one suspicious person, who on seeing police party tried to escape from the spot. On his frisking 10.27 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession and he was arrested on spot. He has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar @Sanju, son of Mansa Ram of W.No. 8, Ramnagar. In this regard, a case FIR Number 148/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur.
In another case, police party of Police Post (PP) Roundomail led by PSI Akhilesh Khajuria in charge, PP Roundomail and SHO PS Udhampur, Inspector, Raghubir Singh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Sahil Mahajan intercepted one suspicious person namely Abhishek Thakur son of Mohan Singh of Dandyal, Udhampur who was roaming suspiciously at Bradian, Roundomail. On his frisking police party recovered six grams of contraband heroin from him.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 498/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur.
Further investigations in both the cases is going on to unearth the backward and forward linkages.
