SRINAGAR, May 31: Two boys from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) who were apprehended by Army for inadvertently crossing the Line of Control (LoC) last week have been returned to PoK authorities at Tithwal Crossing Point in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara today.
Wasalat Khan, 13, son of Naseer Khan and Mohammad Iftikhar Khan, 12, son of Mohammad Fareed, both belonging to Simari village in PoK, had lost their way and entered the Indian side of LoC where, despite the prevailing tense situation, the Army’s patrol displayed remarkable restraint and professionalism in securing the boys from the danger zone without any harm.
Army said that as a goodwill gesture, the young boys were treated with utmost care and provided with all medical and other administrative provisions during their stay here and were today handed over to PoK officials in the presence of officials from J&K Police, civil administration and a large gathering of villagers on both sides.
