JAMMU, May 14: POJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti, J&K today submitted a representation to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu seeking extension of period for registration of bonafide migrants and displaced persons living outside J&K for the purpose of issuance of Domicile Certificates.
In the memorandum, signed by the Sewa Samiti Executive members, Arun Chowdhary and Dr Deepak Kapoor, it has been explained that due to prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation, only limited number of families could apply for registration to the Office of Relief and rehabilitation Commissioner (M) Jammu for the registration of displaced persons living outside J&K.
Further, the memorandum adds, majority of the families could not register for various other reasons, such as POJK Displaced Persons are living in more than 60 cities in 23 states across India and majority of them are unaware regarding the registration process while many such families could not get the required documents from the concerned office due to improper maintenance of record.
“Keeping in consideration of all these genuine issues, we request your goodself to kindly extend the registration period for one more year in the interest of left out families of migrants or Displaced Persons living outside J&KI,” reads the memorandum.
