JAMMU, Mar 9: The Jammu and Kashmir PoK Refugee Front -1947, 65,71 activists held protest demonstration in support of long pending demand of the refugees at Press Club here today.
Led by senior refugee leader, Rashpal Singh Chib, the members including women assembled near Exhibition Ground and resorted to protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their demand, seeking one time comprehensive settlement. They also raised slogans against the NC led State Government.
They pointed out that eight member Parliamentary Standing Committee had visited in November last year. They listened the issues of the refugees of PoJK, Kashmiri migrants and others. It is unfortunate that cabinet recommended hiked package for Kashmiri migrants but they have not recommended the package for the PoK refugees for their final settlement. The Central Government has asked the State to forward the package but the Kashmir based party and even the Congress seems to be less interested in the matter.
They warned to intensify their struggle in near future. The speakers in the rally also urged the DPs from PoK and West Pakistan to get united for their common cause.
Prominent among those who addressed included Sham Singh senior vice president, Krishna Chib vice president, Ajit Singh vice president, Capt Isher Singh-advisor, Jit Lal, Baj Ram, Mohinder Singh and others.
