JAMMU, Oct 22: The displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir today observed black day in connection with the first attack by the Tribals led by Pakistan forces on October 22, 1947.
In this connection the DPs under the banner of SOS International, an organization of displaced persons from PoJK paid rich tributes to the martyrs in a function organised at Master Devi Chand Park, Rehari here today.  The community today observed Black Day as on this day, Muzaffarabad district of J&K was first attacked by tribal on October 22, 1947 which was designed and organized by Pakistan.
The PoJK DPs by wearing black ribbons on their shoulders lodged protest against the tribal attack on their ancestors. On the same day, Tribals (Kabailies) were employed by Pakistan with a conspiracy to change the demography of J&K by executing genocide of thousands of Hindus and Sikhs. Thousands of people were killed, women were raped, young women were abducted and their whereabouts are still not known.  Soon, after Muzaffarabad, such attacks were conducted in Mirpur and Poonch and the same genocide was carried out. PoK displaced persons presently living in exile throughout the country participated in the black day function.
Special prayer was held for martyrs of  Muzaffarabad (PoK).   Dr Gurmeet Singh,  general secretary – SOS International recited ‘Sarv-Dharma Prarthana’ during the function. Soon after the prayers, a song written by Randhir Singh Raipuria, a renowned Dogri poet which depicts the plight of PoK DPs was played.
During the function, two  resolutions were unanimously passed by the delegates. The first resolution was presented by Prof JS Mangal, vice-chairman SOS International. It demanded that  “a setting up a Commission to identify people responsible during tribal attack on J&K in Oct-Nov 1947 who let genocide and deliberately set aside the interest of PoK DPs and State only for their petty political gains, must be brought public.”
Roshan Lal seconded the resolution which was also unanimously adopted by delegates and urged Prime Minister and Chief Minister to constitute Commission.
While addressing the gathering  Rajiv Chuni (chairman) stated that even after six decades he is  unable to understand the reasons behind taking up the subject of PoK invasion matter to United Nations Security Council (UNSC). “Why did India give its consent to enforce ceasefire on the directions of UNSC ?” Mr Chuni asked.
He said that Pakistan immediately followed directions issued by UNSC to maintain ceasefire as it was a win-win situation for it. On the contrary, India was at loser’s part because Indian forces then, were capable to bring back the invaded areas of J&K (PoK) from the clutches of Pakistan; Baramulla and Uri are such examples of Indian army’s valor and capability but that attempt was thwarted only due to vested interests of politicians and to settle some personal points let the suffering occurred in PoK and its inhabitants. Three  generations of these politicians have ruled in J&K and in the Centre but 3 generations of PoK  DPs was kept at the verge of starvation.
He demanded settlement of their issues and also sought reservation for PoK DPs wards in professional & technical colleges throughout the Country. He further said that the children of  unemployed over-aged youth are living their lives in gloom and Government is seeing all this things like a step-mother.
