PoJK DPs facing problem in getting Domicile Certificates

JAMMU, Sept 29: The Displaced Persons (DPs) from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), living outside J&K have alleged that they were facing lot of problems in getting their Domicile Certificates even after completion of formalities as mentioned by the J&K UT Government.
Referring to the Para No. 2 and 6 of the Notification No. 03/PRO/J&K/2020 (Delhi) dated 15/12/2020 issued by the office of the PRO, J&K, Jammu, Mirpur Balidan Samiti (Delhi) said that a family of PoJK Displaced Persons (DPs) who were initially recorded with the Provincial Officer (PRO), J&K but later settled outside the then State of J&K are also an eligible category of DPs to avail benefit in terms of the Government Order No.52-JK (DMRRR) of 2020 dated 16.05.2020 for Registration and a Unique ID number assigned to each DP shall be a sufficient proof for the purpose of registration before the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K, for issuance of Domicile Certificate.
But suddenly, it has been observed that two such Applications Number 8808 and 8811 uploaded on August 03, 2022 and Aug 05, 2022 in respect of two brothers Davinder Kohli and Ravinder Kohli were rejected on 23/08/2022 for want of requisite documents for registration while Unique ID No. POJK/DP/1947/Delhi/UP/801 assigned to their father was duly mentioned in their Applications, hence no document required.
Madan Mohan Gupta, general secretary, Mirpur Balidan Bhawan Samiti (PoJK, 1947), Lajpat Nagar-1, New Delhi emailed a letter on Aug 25, 2022 to the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), Jammu stating the above mentioned provisions. Even on phone it was assured that if the Unique ID mentioned in the Application tallies with the List, such applications will be approved.
Another Application No. 8781 uploaded on July 30, 2022 for Registration by Satpal Talwar was initially accepted for processing but not yet approved till date even after two months again for want of relevant documents. Several cases of similar nature are awaiting clearance in Commissioner’s office Jammu.
Mirpur Balidan Samiti (Delhi) has urged the Lt Governor of J&K UT, Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and issue directions to the concerned officials for providing Domicile certificates to PoJK DPs.
