UDHAMPUR, Nov 17: An accused arrested under POCSO Act at Police Station Panchari, fled from the custody, here last night.
Reports said that Kuldeep Singh alias Kallo, resident of Panchayat Katti, who was arrested under Section 354/506 POCSO Act, fled from the Police Station last night when he was being taken to washroom by a Policeman on the duty.
The detainee pushed away the cop and managed to flee taking advantage of darkness, sources said, adding that a hunt has been launched to apprehend the accused.
Meanwhile, family members of Kuldeep Singh alleged that Police was harassing them to ascertain location of the accused, who was in custody of Police Station Panchari. They have appealed SSP Udhampur and DC Udhampur to look into the matter and take action against the erring cops.
