PO issues 25% more passports than last year

JAMMU, Dec 24: Passport Office, Jammu has issued 25 per cent more passports as compared to last year.
This was stated by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Passport Officer, Jammu.
He further added that the citizens of Jammu Division have received their passports soon after their verification process was completed.
“This is the only Office which could maintain its Appointment Cycle for the next day only-throughout the year. This Office has been able to achieve all the goals/targets set last year after overcoming all the obstacles, only with due diligence and dedication”, he added.
Most of the people have been very effusive and praised for the promptness, productivity and quality services rendered by the Passport Office, he stated.
He informed that three ISO Certificates were also accorded in one go to Passport Seva Project this year in recognition of the outstanding service provided to the citizens, adding that for the first time, Passport Office, Jammu was also given a Passport Seva Puraskaar by the Union Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj.
During this year, considerable number of Line of Control Permits were issued through the new system, which inter alia include Triple Entry Permits also for the visitors-who intend to meet their divided families or their relatives on the other side of the Line of Control via Chakan-da-Bagh Crossing Point.
In the last three and half years, Passport Office, Jammu has received 1,12,700 applications and against which around 94,869 passports till date have been issued, which itself is a testimony of meticulousness of the job, Gupta said, adding that this year alone, around 40,965 applications have been received for Passports/Passport related services and around 39,175 Passports/Passport related services have been given.
