PNB organizes ‘Silent March’ to create awareness about NPAs

JAMMU, Mar 26: With an initiative to raise general awareness about growing non-performing assets (NPAs), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Jammu Circle, organized a ‘Silent March’  here today.
The march led by Bikram Singh Raina, Circle Head, Punjab National Bank, Jammu circle along with Pawan Kohli, Deputy Circle Head, Chief Managers and officials of the city branches, started from Bahu Plaza and passed through Trikuta Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Gole Market, Shastri Nagar, Vikram Chowk, Bakshi Nagar, Canal Road, Rehari, New Plot, etc.
Speaking at the march, Raina said that the biggest challenge before the public sector banks are the Non Performing Assets (NPA). “Punjab National Bank has organized this ‘Silent March’ for creating awareness about NPA, as NPA borrowers are not forthcoming to repay their overdue amounts”, he informed.
He further said that the move is aimed to create social pressure on borrowers who are not repaying their loans in time. Raina further said that the bank is planning more such campaigns in near future also to spread awareness on non-performing assets (NPAs) among the people and sensitizing them on the need to repay bank dues on time.
