JAMMU, July 23: Punjab National Bank held Kissan Credit Card (KCC)/Tractor Loan function at Branch Office Bishnah under the guidance of M L Mir, DGM Circle Head J&K Circle and distributed KCCs worth Rs 1.4 crore.
The farmers from Branch Office Arnia also participated and got KCCs to the tune of Rs 25 lakh. The keys of three tractors were also handed over to the farmers.
Mir apprised them about the benefits of new Kissan credit scheme which has the inbuilt annual enhancement facility by 10% for a period of five years, adding that the same is extended to the farmers having good track record like satisfactory utilization of the permitted limit, timely repayment of the dues and payment of interest as applicable.
During the function, Kalyani cards for the rural women beneficiaries were also distributed to the tune of Rs 50, 000 each, which was a step towards women empowerment.
Under Krishak Sathi Scheme, many farmers were freed from the clutches of money lenders by financing them to take over their liabilities by the bank to the tune of Rs1 lakh each.
All the farmers of the area have been sensitized about this scheme of swapping the dues to be paid to money lenders so that they are not subjected to the exploitation any more.
