SRINAGAR : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Kashmir for two days from June 25, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Prof Saifuddin Soz said.
In a statement issued here this afternoon by PCC office, Prof Soz called on Dr Singh at New Delhi today and discussed many subjects of mutual interest.
The social and political situation in Jammu and Kashmir was also discussed, Prof Soz said.
He said Prime Minister proposed visit to Kashmir on June 25 and 26 was also discussed.
The PCC chief said Dr Singh has agreed to release a commemorative stamp on Shair-Kashmir Ghulam Ahmad Mehjoor, being considered a revolutionary poet.
He said the Centres has responded positively to his request in the Rajya Sabha on November 21, 2011 for releasing a stamp on Mehjoor.
Prof Soz said Union Communication Minister Kapil Sibal has also agreed to be present on the occasion during the release of stamp.
