Dr Jitendra to conduct prog, Kailash Ch to join in Jammu

JAMMU, May 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will tomorrow distribute 71,000 appointment letters to the youth in different departments at 45 locations across the country including Jammu and Kashmir through video conferencing from New Delhi.
Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh will conduct the programme while Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary will physically distribute letters among the newly recruited youth at Jammu Convention Centre here tomorrow morning.
The youth who will get appointment letters here have been selected in the Department of Posts, Railways and the offices under control of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, official sources told the Excelsior.
Modi will address the newly recruited youth through video conferencing after which the Union Minister will distribute appointment letters here. Dr Jitendra Singh, Union MoS in PMO will conduct the programme.
Worthwhile to mention here that results for 2014 Lok Sabha elections were also declared on May 16 in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had bagged clear majority for the first time bagging 282 seats.
The 71,000 appointment letters will be distributed at a total of 45 locations across the country, sources said.
The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Departments as well as State Governments/UTs supporting this initiative.
As per the officials, the ‘Rozgar Melas’ will be made a regular exercise across the country including the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
“This will give boost to employment opportunities,” sources said, adding that more and more Government departments are coming forward with advertisement of vacancies and recruitment on fast track basis to absorb unemployed youth.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory Government has already identified nearly 20,000 vacancies for recruitment in various Government departments for the current year after carrying out an exercise by asking the departments to refer available vacancies to the General Administration Department (GAD).
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join various positions/posts like Gramin Dak Sevaks, Inspector of Posts, Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, Junior clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Accounts Clerk, Track Maintainer, Assistant Section Officer, Lower Division Clerk, Sub Divisional Officer, Tax Assistants, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Inspectors, Nursing Officers, Assistant Security Officers, Fireman, Assistant Accounts officer, Assistant Audit officer, Divisional Accountant, Auditor, Constable, Head Constable, Assistant Commandant, Principal, Trained Graduate Teacher, Assistant Registrar, Assistant Professor, among others.
“The Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfillment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation. The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development,” an official statement said.
The newly inducted appointees will also get an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, which is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various Government departments.
This is third ‘Rozgar Mela’ in Jammu and Kashmir, the first being on November 22, 2022 which was also inaugurated by the Prime Minister through video conferencing and later the Union Ministers distributed appointment letters to the candidates at different places including Jammu and Srinagar. The second such Mela was held on April 13, 2023 where Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar distributed letters here after the Prime Minister’s address to the recruits.
