New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tributes to social activist Nanaji Deshmukh on his birth anniversary.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the PM said, “I bow to Nanaji Deshmukh, a great social worker and patriot on his birth anniversary today. He struggled and dedicated his entire life for the upliftment and welfare of villages and farmers. His contribution to nation building is everlasting and forever commemorative.”
Nanaji Deshmukh was a social worker who contributed to anti-poverty causes and rural health and rural education.
He was awarded Bharat Ratna posthumously in 2019. (AGENCIES)
