They said that the package employees are totally scared following the targeted killings coupled with open threat letters given by the militant organisations.
“Terror groups have previously sent us threat letters, but this time , the warning is accompanied by a list of employees., This has created fear not only among the package employees but in the entire KP community.” Rajan Zutshi one of the protesting employees said.
He said the latest warning can’t be dismissed as a propaganda as “ they (militants) have all relevant information about the employees”.
Demanding a probe into the leak of names to militants, Zutshi said it shows the terror ecosystem is deep rooted and needs to be dismissed by taking stern action against over ground supporters.
“The Government must find out who leaked such vital information to militant outfit., The police should take such things seriously and ensure the safety of those employees who are still stationed in the Valley,” he said.
Another employee, Rakesh Kumar pleaded before the media to save their lives as they are on the hit list of militants. “We are on strike for last 206 days demanding our relocation but the Government is not paying any attention to our demand”.
He said the package employees be attached in Jammu. What Government wants to see more, we were targeted and the employees are facing threat since 2012. So till situation becomes conducive the Government should adjust us outside Valley”, he added.
Kumar, while highlighting the plight of package employees said they are suffering and how long will it go. “We are unable to feed our children and arrange medicines for our ailing parents as the authorities have withheld our salaries,” he added.
Deepika, another protesting employee said that they will not go to serve in Kashmir under prevailing circumstances as the employee have no guarantee of security there. The employees are not safe there and they have been targeted and now the threat letter has been issued by name and what the Government wants more than this should happen. “Do they want that the militants should chase us to Jammu and eliminate us here too,” she asked?
