JAMMU, Jan 25: BJP celebrated the decision of Governor S P Malik, in which he has given nod to the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation (amendment) Bill, 2014, providing reservation to the persons belonging to Pahari community, clan or tribe having distinct cultural, ethnic and linguistic identity, in the Government jobs at various places across the state.
Addressing a press conference MLC Vibhodh Gupta said that this reservation in Government jobs is a great step for Pahari community. This was a continuous fight since 1989 by the community. BJP has been supporting the cause of great fight of Paharis for the ST status and reservation in jobs. This is the true manifestation of BJP’s agenda of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas”, he insisted. He said that, BJP earlier passed a political resolution to press for reservation and ST status to Paharis. Now the BJP led Centre Government has approved reservation of 3 % to Paharis. He appreciated the role of all those who worked for this success.
Earlier they also celebrated the decision by bursting crackers at the party headquarter and distributing sweets.
Meanwhile, BJP also celebrated the feast at Rajouri under the leadership of MP Jugal Kishore Sharma. Former Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli, former MoS Kuldeep Raj Gupta,district President dinesh Sharma, Chairman Municipal Committee Rajouri Arif Jatt, Vice-Chairman Bharat Vaid, Kewal, Karan Saryal, Atam Parkash, Kapil Saryal, Varun Chandan, Shahid, Sanjay Dutt and others were amongst the prominent BJp leaders present during the celebrations consisting of danciling to the tunes of Dhol and distribution of sweets at Rajouri.
MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, while speaking on the moment, said that this feast is achieved afer a continuous struggle of about 40 years. Total belt of Poonch and Rajouri has fought for the nation and never went against national interests with no touch of separatism or other anti-social nuisance, he said and added that very soon their other demand will be addressed by PM Modi led Government at Centre.
