JAMMU: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate Chenani Nashri Tunnel open in Udhampur district, Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Dr S D Singh today reviewed security at the venue besides the arrangements.

The Prime Minister is likely to inaugurate the runnel by mid of this month. Dr Singh, in view of the forthcoming VVIP visit paid a visit to Chenani-Nashri Tunnel to see the existing security arrangements and also security arrangement required to be made on opening of tunnel for both way traffic.

A detailed discussion was held with the officers of police and civil administration as well as representatives of NHW A-I authority to ensure enhanced security measures for the safety and security of tunnel.

After review of the security arrangement of Tunnel Dr Singh left for Ramban district and held darbar of Officers. The IGP Jammu also requested the senior citizen and participants to keep close watch over criminal and anti national elements in their area and become ear and eyes of Police Department. (AGENCIES)
