NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated tennis player Sania Mirza for her victory in the WTA finals.
“Congratulations to Sania Mirza for the victory in WTA finals. This is yet another proud accomplishment!” the Prime Minister said.
Sania, continuing her tremendous form, bagged the year-ending WTA Tour Finals in Singapore yesterday. The victory comes after some phenomenal performances this year along with her doubles partner Cara Black of Zimbabwe. The two beat the defending champions Hsieh Su-wei (Chinese Taipei) and Peng Shuai (China) 6-1, 6-0 to win their maiden WTA title.
