JAMMU, Sept 25: Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti and top officers of her Ministry among others would brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow on the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, which India was reportedly considering to scrap to teach Pakistan a lesson in response to Uri attack in which 18 Army soldiers were killed.
Official sources said Modi would hold high level review of Indus Water Treaty under which water of major rivers is shared with Pakistan.
There has been pressure on the Government of India to scrap the treaty with Pakistan to teach the hostile neighbour a lesson in the wake of Uri attack.
Sources said Uma Bharti and officers of her Ministry and other senior Ministers would brief the Prime Minister on the treaty and how it can be scrapped.
