PM blames Cong for killing of soldiers in J&K; says BJP delivered what it promised

‘Cong used 370 for vote bank, lingered its abrogation’

JAMMU, Nov 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today blamed Congress and its allies for the killing of number of brave soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir and said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had promised a solution to this (Kashmir) problem which it has fulfilled.
He also took the Congress and its alliance partners to task for procrastination on the issue of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and was abrogated by BJP-led NDA Government on August 5. He said the Congress used the Article for vote bank politics.
In a series of tweets after addressing two rallies in election-bound BJP-ruled Jharkhand State, Modi said the BJP had also promised solution to Ram Janam-bhoomi issue and the people can see today that the dispute has been resolved.
“Jammu Kashmir Ki Suraksha Kay Liye Anek Veer Jawanoo Ko Balidan Dena Pada, Anek Mataon Ko Apne Sapoot Khone Pade. In Sab Ki Zimedhar Thi Congress Aur Uske Sahyogi Dal (For the security of Jammu and Kashmir large number of soldiers had to sacrifice their lives, number of mothers had to lose their sons. Congress and its allies were responsible for all this),” the Prime Minister said.
“BJP Ne Aapse Is Chunoti Kay Samadhan Ka Vaada Kiya Tha Aur Apna Vaada Pura Karke Dikhaya (The BJP had promised to you a solution to this challenge and we have fulfilled our commitment),” he said in an apparent reference towards the Central Government decisions taken on August 5 including scrapping of special Constitutional provisions of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcation of the erstwhile State into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
It may be mentioned here that the killings of security personnel in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have gone down considerably post August 5 decisions of the Central Government barring few casualties suffered by the troops on the Line of Control (LoC) during ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
Charging the Congress and its alliance partners with trying to linger on the problems and take votes on their names, Modi said it was because of this reason that these political parties kept the issue of (abrogation of) Article 370 pending.
“The Congress and its allies have problems, we have solutions. They have false allegations, we have report card of our works. They have only announcements, we have certificate of development,” he said.
The Prime Minister also charged the Congress with keeping pending for decades together the dispute of Lord Ram’s Janambhoomi in Ayodhya.
“Had Congress desired, it would have worked out a solution to the dispute of Ram Janambhoomi. But, the Congress didn’t do this and was worried only about vote bank politics. Because of this thought of the Congress, the country and society suffered, the society was divided,” Modi said.
He added that the BJP had promised an immediate solution to Ram Janambhoomi issue and today it has been resolved.
PTI adds: Mounting a blistering attack on the Congress-JMM-RJD alliance in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged today that its “self- seeking” past Governments were driven by the “lust for power”, and exploited the mineral-rich State’s resources while neglecting the people.
The Prime Minister asserted the BJP was committed to the five principles of social justice–stability, good governance, prosperity, respect for all and security.
Naxalism flourished under the non-BJP Governments due to political instability, he said.
“Governments were made through the back door. There were alliances of self-seekers who were driven by the lust for power (satta bhog) and exploited the resources of the State.
“They had their eyes on the riches found beneath the surface of the earth and cared little for those living on the earth. How would it then have been possible to give electricity, roads and water to people? Set up industries?” he asked.
Modi said it was for the first time since the creation of Jharkhand in the year 2000 that the BJP Government led by Raghubar Das had completed its full term.
The Das Government, he said, worked day and night to end corruption and set up institutional mechanisms for greater transparency in governance. He said the BJP Government made honest efforts to end Naxalism and crime.
