JAMMU, Oct 26: Prime Minister has betrayed the people of the State by refusing to identify the situation, which emerged due to devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir as natural disaster. This amounts to a grave discrimination with the people of the State and particularly with the people of Jammu.
This was stated by Prof Bhim Singh, founder of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) during a press conference here today.
Singh added that PM had exclusive meetings with the Chief Minister as well as the leaders of PDP and the impression created was that Modi accepted Chief Minister’s demand to put in some money in CM’s Relief Fund.
He further stated that in Medical College Jammu there are only 17 ventilators whereas nearly 50 patients are being pumped manual oxygen in the Hospital, adding that PM contributed nearly 200 crores for six hospitals in Srinagar and failed to contribute even 20 ventilators for Jammu hospital.
“People of Jammu voted heavily even the EVMs played their pro-Modi role during the Lok Sabha elections and PM could not help dig out dead bodies of the landslide and flood victims in Panchari (Sadal) and Nowshera (Lam) who were buried during the flood havoc. His Government failed even to provide one JCB machine for the purpose”, he added.
Had the Government declared this situation as National Disaster the parameters for the compensation for the loss of lives, property, crops, cattle should have been different rather equivalent to the actual loss, Singh stated.
“The EVMs are being brought to Srinagar via Gujarat. I had taken this issue with CEC which could not disclose the reason of EVMs travelling from Hyderabad (manufacturing place) to Gujarat and then dispatched in a secret passage under police escort from Ahmedabad to Srinagar”, he added.
“PM Modi’s foreign policy has collapsed as he failed to utter a single word to serve a right rejoinder to Pakistan during his address to the general assembly of the UN last month”, he said.
