JAMMU, Jan 5: The state body of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum held the monthly meeting, which was attended by district presidents, tehsil heads and other functionaries of the Forum.
In the meeting, which was presided over by the Forum president NS Jamwal, the speakers discussed long pending demands of the Plus 2 cadre. They expressed concern over the fact that a large number of vacancies of lecturers have been lying vacant in various parts of the State for a long time but the previous Government played with the career of students by taking no steps to fill these posts. Hundreds of teachers and masters, promoted as Lecturers, have not been posted in schools, so far, they explained.
The Forum demanded that the Officers, including Joint Directors, Chief Education Officers/Principal DIETs, Principals and equivalents, lecturers etc, serving in the Incharge capacity, should be regularized. Removal of pay anomaly of the Physics lecturers was also demanded.
The Forum criticized the previous Government for adopting dilly dallying attitude with regard to the enhancement of grade pay of Principals of Plus 2 schools and according them the non vacational status.
Mr Jamwal demanded the appointment of officers from the School Education Department as officers to run JKBOSE.
Prominent among those who addressed the meeting, included Charan Dass, Tarsem Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Manmeet Bali, Arunesh Kumar, Pradeep Singh, Anil Kumar, Ashok Sharma, Ashwani Sharma Ravinder Jamwal, OP Katoch, Sanjay Pakhroo and Hem Raj.
