UDHAMPUR, May 22: In the monthly meeting of  District Udhampur unit of All J& K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum, which was held here today under the chairmanship of  district president Ashok Sharma,  the participants  urged the Education Minister to ensure that all the incharge incumbents  in the School Education Department are regularized at the earliest.
The meet  also expressed concern over the fact that even after the lapse of about a year, the orders for the sanction of incentives in favour of those Principals, Lecturers, Masters, teachers etc,  who were engaged to run extra classes during the summer vacation last year, have not been issued by the Directorate of School Education Jammu.
The Forum members warned that they would boycott these classes in the coming vacations if orders in this respect are not issued before the onset of these vacations this year. They also demanded  review of the appointment of the lecturers in 10+2 cadre on the salary of minimum basic pay and grade pay (Rs 14,700) for a period of five years and said that full salary be paid to the newly recruited lecturers right from the first day of their appointment.
They urged the Education Minister to constitute a committee of the eminent educationists/ administrators to frame a long term comprehensive education policy after threadbare discussions with all the stakeholders such as teachers, parents, students etc. They also said that transfers should invariably be ordered during breaks and strictly according to the transfer policy announced by the Government and rationalization of staff in the schools in accordance with the roll and subject need.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma demanded that training of all officers/officials of the Department be conducted during summer/winter breaks so that it may not adversely affect studies of the students. He also demanded that the Principals, Lecturers, Masters, teachers etc  of those schools be appreciated, which showed excellent results and whose students figured in  merit position holders in JKBOSE Summer Zone (Regular)exams, 2017. He also demanded publishing of annual calendar of academics, examinations, activities, vacations etc at the beginning of the academic session.
Those who spoke on the occasion, included Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Joginder Gupta, Mohan Lal, Bishan Sharma, Ram Murti, Virinder Kumar, Mohan Lal Sharma, Luxmi Kant, Ravi Kanchan, Pawan Kumar, Kaka Ram and others.
