UDHAMPUR, Dec 9: The District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturer’s Forum, held a meeting here today. The meeting was attended by a large number of the members of +2 community from the district.
It was presided over by Ashok Sharma, general secretary of the Forum. In the meeting the participants had a threadbare discussion about the main problems being faced by the +2 cadre.
They expressed concern that a large number of vacancies of teaching staff including lecturers exist in the School Education Department and Government should take immediate steps to fill up them through DPC or direct recruitment of lecturers by the PSC.
They discussed the issue of the benefit of running pattern in favour of +2 Cadre, incentive increments in favour of lecturers having Ph D, M Phil and those having passed NET/SLET, disparity in the pay scale of lecturers in Physical Education, restoration of 40% promotional quota, issuance of formal orders of regularization of all in-charge incumbents in the School Education Department and giving non-vocational status to the principals of +2 Schools in view of heavy work during the vacations.
They also criticized the J&K BOSE for its failure to hold Board exams in time and demanded that the BOSE should prepare a calendar of exams at the start of the session and adhere to it strictly. They also urged the Board authorities to update its website and hold workshops for evaluators to ensure justice to the candidates by genuine evaluation of their answer sheets. They urged the Principal SIE/DIETs to organize the training programmes at various levels during the breaks to avoid loss to the students.
