JAMMU, Dec 27: Continuing their protest for the 1049th day, agitating ten plus 2 Contractual Lecturer today held a strong demonstration near Press Club Jammu.
Shouting slogans in support of their demand for regularization, the protesting Lecturers also attempted to march towards the Civil Secretariat but Police did not allow them to proceed further. The indefinite protest for the last 1049 days is being held under the banner of All J&K Contractual Lecturers (10plus2) Forum, which is demanding regularization of the services of these Contractual Lecturers.
The protest demonstration was led by Pankaj Sharma, president of the forum, who threatened to further intensify the agitation if no favourable decision is taken by the committee, which has been constituted by the Government to examine all the academic arrangements in various departments.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by Raman Khajuria, Abhimanyu Sharma, Shehraz Ahmed Choudhary, Naveen, Parduman Sharma, Shakti Raina, Sohan Lal, Rakesh Kumar Khajuria, Anil Sharma, Yasir Wani, Mohib Ul-Hassan, Narinder Bhardwaj and others.
