JAMMU, July 12: A Punjabi book titled ‘Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik Di Sirjana’- a collection of Research Papers edited by Prof (Dr) Baljeet Kour (HoD Punjabi, University of Jammu) was released by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu (PLS-J) in a function at K L Saigal Hall, here today.
Dr Harjinder Singh, Faculty of Punjabi Department, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Dr Pritam Singh (Faculty Member of the Department) was the guest of honour. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, former Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages presided over the function while Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik was present in the presidium.
A Punjabi Kavi Durbar follows the book release ceremony. The poets who recited their Punjabi poems included Prabhjot Kour, Manjeet Singh Kaamra, Balwinder Singh Deep, J P Singh Azad, Saran Star, Dr Pritam Singh, Pyasa Anjum, Suraj Singh Suraj, Dr Gurpreet Kour, Balwinder Singh Jammu and Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik.
Dr Baljeet Singh Raina (president, PLS-J), in his welcome address, gave a brief introduction of Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik and the contents of the released book. He informed that the research papers of 18 Punjabi writers of Jammu & Kashmir, and from other states, have been included in the Book.
Dr Raj Kumar while speaking on the works of Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik highlighted the qualitative values of the Book. The writers and scholars whose research papers have been included in the released book are Dr Navneet Kaur, Satinderjit Singh, Prabhjit Kaur, Gurpreet Kour, Jang S Verman, Dr Harsimran Singh, Dr Rajvir Singh, Dr Gurpreet Kour, Dr Mamta, Dr Harjinder Singh, Chanpreet Kour, Prabhjot Kour, Amanpreet Kour, Balwinder Kour and Dr Pritam Singh.
While speaking on this occasion, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Dr Harjinder Singh and Dr Pritam Singh also expressed their views.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Gurpreet Kour (general secretary, PLS-J) while the function ended with vote of thanks presented by Dr Monojit, (former president, PLS-J).
