JAMMU, Dec 20: Chief patron of National Panthers Party (NPP) Prof Bhim Singh today said that Panthers Legislature Party led by MLA Harshdev Singh shall participate in Panchayat Empowerment Session being held in Jammu tomorrow.
Addressing press conference here today, Prof Singh disclosed that special session on Panchayat empowerment is being held by Panchayat Empowerment Committee on December 21 (Saturday) in Jammu. During the session Panthers Legislature Party chief Harshdev Singh (MLA) shall present a proposed Bill in the Panchayati Raj Session to seek an opinion/ amendment in the Bill which shall include comprehensive demands and provisions of the 73rd Amendment.
Prof Bhim Singh further said that PLP shall present a fresh Bill in this regard on Panchayat Raj without any deletion in 73rd Amendment. The PLP shall also move another Bill in the next session of the Assembly to incorporate 74th Amendment in the Parliament to provide comprehensive powers to the local bodies.
