The state government’s recent decision to provide jobs for the remaining 3000 posts under Job employment package for the Kashmiri migrants is really a welcome and bold step. But at the same time, the callous attitude of the J&K service selection board has always created hurdles in this perspective by delaying its implementation. The working of J&K Service Selection Board is really beyond the comprehension of the normal human mind. Neither they adhere the protocol formulated by the state government nor do they expedite the recruitment process as far as this package is concerned. The PM’s employment package for kashmiri pandits has been in doldrums from the last 10 years and nothing good has yielded till date thereby puts the career of thousands of unemployed migrant youths at stake. Many a time we read in the newspapers that there is huge requirement of teachers in the state’s Education department and others posts are also lying vacant in various departments as well. So only a comprehensive and rigid policy can go a long way in order to fill these vacant posts in a time bound manner. Recruitment process under PM’s package for Kashmiri migrants can only be streamlined and successful if the J&K SSB will advertise the remaining 3000 posts without any further delay and should execute the whole process on a fast track basis.
