JAMMU, Mar 30: On the third day of ongoing 10th Natrang Theatre Festival, the theatre group here today presented play ‘Daftar Mei Ek Din’ written by Pratap Sehgal and directed by Neeraj Kant.
Speaking on the occasion, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that they have already created a record in the country by showcasing 40 different plays in 11 months.
The play opens in office where all the employees are shown working in their own styles. As they have job security, no one bothers to exercise punctuality; on the contrary, they have their own reasons to modify the rules and regulations as per their personal convenience. The office has a peon who listens to none as no one can remove him from his permanent job and moreover no one, even the boss has courage to say anything to him. On the top of it, the Head of the Department, who was supposed to maintain integrity and punctuality of the office himself, shirks from his duties and remains absconding from the office to cater to his personal engagements. To the surprise of all, everything changes with the change in the headship, when a new boss joins the office, who himself works with integrity, the working style of the entire office changes and those who are worst affected by this change are those who were lethargic and disobedient earlier under weak leadership in the office.
The artists who participated in the play included Manoj Kumar Lalotra, Sushant Singh Charak, Abhinav Sharma, Udit Sagar, Kuldeep Angral, Arti Devi, Sumit Raina and Chahat Katyal. The lights of the play were executed by Neeraj Kant and music was scored by Ajay Kumar Lalotra. The presentation was done by Meenakshi Bhagat and the show was coordinated by Mohd Yaseen.
