JAMMU, Oct 18: Following all SOPs, Natrang’s Sunday Theatre resumed here today after a gap of around seven months with the staging of play ‘Aab-E-Hayaat’ based on the story of legendary writer Munshi Prem Chand. The play has been directed by Neeraj Kant.
It is pertinent to mention here that during COVID-19 restrictions, Natrang had stopped all its operations which require physical presence of people and had initiated remarkable artistic ventures on its social media platforms.
Addressing live from Johannesburg, Director Natrang, Balwant Thakur complimented the Natrang team for resuming its activities and further assured that slowly Natrang will start all its regular programmes.
The play ‘Aab-E-Hayaat’ opens at a very mysterious and weird laboratory of one ‘Dr. Ghosh’—famous for his out of box inventions. He invited four elderly people to volunteer for an experiment on them. These four people ‘Lala Kirorimal’, ‘Vikram Singh’, ‘Daya Ram’ and ‘Chanchal Kuwar’ have their pasts well linked to each other though they had committed many sins in their life but are fed up with the effect of age to their bodies and to their surprise, Dr. Ghosh tells them that he has got some wonder water which can reverse the effect of age and can make them young once again.
Dr. Ghosh puts condition that they can drink as much water and can become as young as they want but they have to promise that they will not commit all those sins and mistakes which they have done in their youth and they readily agreed to it.
A miracle happened, after drinking the wonder water as they all turned young and forgot their promise and again started to plot their malpractices. To their surprise, the wonder water was just an intoxication whose effect lasts as fast as it captures senses. Though the mirage ends, they all become old once again justifying Doctor’s experiment that one can’t leave one’s instincts.
Artists who performed in the play were Gopi Sharma, Kuldeep Angral, Aadesh Dhar, Brijesh Avtar Sharma and Kananpreet Kaur.
Lights were operated by Neeraj Kant and the sound was looked after by Aarti Devi. The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen and the presentations were done by Chirag Anand.
