JAMMU, Dec 7: Maintaining that debate on Article 370 is inevitable, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President-Panun Kashmir said this Article has facilitated the creation of a State within a State.
He while addressing a function organized by PK here today, said his organization will intensify struggle for its abrogation.
The chief guest on the occasion was Ashok Khajuria, MLA and the guest of honour was Ashok Kaul, general secretary, State BJP. Virender Raina, National spokesperson of the PK conducted the proceedings of the function. The BJP top brass including Shamsher Singh Manhas, Sat Sharma, CA, Chander Mohan Sharma and Ramesh Arora were present in the programme. O.P Sharma presented a vote of thanks and Sameer Bhat. convener-PK Youth Wing gave away PK documentation to the participants in the programme.
He said in a situation where the people of Jammu, the Kashmiri Pandits, Ladhakhis and the other minorities are opposing the existence of Article 370, the question arises as to who and for what wants its continuance, Article 370 is not a permanent provision in the Constitution, he added.
He said as a natural rule of the system. anything that is given birth by the Constitution can be repealed and amended by the same Constitution. The Parliament of India is always supreme to take a final call. There is an overwhelming opinion against this unnecessary provision. It provides a Constitutional mechanism to justify the secessiost plank that the J&K State has a separate identity.
Ashok Khajuria, in his speech congratulated P K for its proactiveness in making people aware about the nefarious design of the secessionist elements. He said that the BJP is committed to the welfare of the Kashmiri Pandits and the other minorities of the State. The BJP has challenged Omar Abdullah to initiate a debate seriously on Article 370 for which the BJP is prepared to even go to Srinagar.
The Panun Kashmir leadership on the occasion specially felicitated the BJP top brass in the function and also presented them a docket containing reports, Newsletter and some auspicious and traditional items.
