JAMMU, May 6: Outrightly rejecting the concept of township or colonies for Kashmiri Hindus in Valley, Panun Kashmir (PK) today said that nothing except the separate homeland for over seven lakh internally displaced Pandits on the North East of river Jehlum in Valley will be acceptable to the community.
“The concept of township or colonies for Kashmiri Hindus in Valley are not only ridiculous but also sinister because they actually envisage pushing the victims of genocide back into the grasp of the perpetrators of genocide”, PK chairman, Ajay Chrungoo, senior leaders O N Trisal and Prof M K Raina told reporters here today.
They said PK wants to state it clearly to the Government of India that Hindus of Kashmir will not accept the conversion of J&K into a de facto Muslim State and no return of Hindus is possible to Kashmir Valley unless a centrally administered Union Territory is carved out to the North East of river Jehlum in Kashmir Valley for rehabilitating them.
They said it is appalling that the thrust of policy in J&K of the Union and State Government is not aimed at stopping the radicalization of Kashmiri Muslims, spreading of sway and reach of separatists establishment and continue sinister enterprise of terrorism. It is, in fact aimed at to undermine the social resistance to separatism, fundamentalism and terrorism, they added.
They said the internally displaced Hindus of Kashmir seem to be the focus of a Government action to destabilize, demoralize and disintegrate them.
Criticizing the policies of ruling parties at Centre and in the State, Ajay Chrungoo said it seems that both these governments have embarked upon a course of providing not only space to the separatist intransigence, but also an insidious accommodation to Pakistan’s maneuvers in J&K.
He said PK is hopeful that Government of India will use the opportunity of Pakistan’s interference and tell the world not only about the role of neighbouring country in the genocide and expulsion of Kashmiri Hindus but also the brazen and false process it continues to indulge in changing the demographic character of Gilgit , Baltistan and other parts of PoK.
He said PK has also watched with shock and disbelief the meek and apologetic response GoI to Pakistan’s objection and disapproval of the return of internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus.
He also expressed his deep anguish about the deteriorating internal security environment for the small numbers of Hindus living in Kashmir Valley particularly after public of Pakistan to the return of Hindus of Kashmir to Valley.
