JAMMU, May 27: Maintaining that Panun Kashmir (PK) demand for separate homeland within Kashmir valley is a reality, convener of the organization, Dr Agnishekhar today said that the leaders of PK are hopeful that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will respect the aspirations of Pandits and take steps for reorganization of J&K State.
Speaking at seminar organized by Panun Kashmir at Jammu Club here today, on the topic “New Situations, New Hopes and New Challenges” he said Panun Kashmir is committed to homeland demand as per the Marg Darshan Resolution of 1991 as there was no other alternative to rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley other than carving out a separate homeland on the North East of river Jehlum with UT status.
Outrightly rejecting the rehabilitation of Pandits at scattered places in Valley the PK leader said that the community has already turned down the same and it will not budge an inch from homeland demand.
He warned the forces within the community who are harming its cause by hobnobbing on return issue and said that they were playing with the community cause.
Addressing the seminar, PK chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo said Panun Kashmir is a guiding factor for the community and the homeland slogan was given by PK after marathon discussions when the entire Hindu minority was uprooted from the Valley by the forces inimical to the national interests and who did not want that pluralism should flourish in the Valley.
He said that PK became a reality after mass exodus of the community from Kashmir when a new thinking emerged in Kashmir to uproot and finish the societies.
He said a new hope has emerged in country with taking over of Narendra Modi. Rejecting the concept of Kashmiriyat he said it is not acceptable to Ladakh and Jammu region, he added.
He said the great game of genocide is continuing in this region up to Afghanistan from centuries together and the mandate given to Narendra Modi by the people of this country has evoked a new hope among the people.
He said there are many intellectuals within country who also are of the opinion that the homeland with UT status was the only solution to the KPs problems.
Sushil Pandit a media consultant who was the guest speaker in the seminar said Narendra Modi started his campaign meticulously and got the support of masses from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
He said in J&K BJP also emerged on top as combine votes polled by PDP and NC were less than the votes polled by the BJP.
Maintaining that Mr Modi is concerned about Kashmiri Pandits, he said the Prime Minister has always been making mention of their plight and mass exodus.
Dr M K Teng, O N Trisal and Kuldeep Raina general secretary PK also spoke in the seminar while the programmes was compered by Shalinder Aima.
