JAMMU, Sept 18: Panun Kashmir (PK) expressed deep satisfaction on Foreign Minister, Jai Shanker’s statement on Kashmir that after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, the real focus now is on the liberation of PoJK.
Panun Kashmir organised a meeting of its Political Affairs Committee (PAC) at Jammu today which was presided over by Virender Raina, president-Panun Kashmir. Those who attended the meeting besides the president included Prof. M.L.Raina, advisor, Upinder Kaul, general secretary, Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org.), Ashok Chrungoo, treasurer, Pramod Durrani, S.K.Bhat, Sameer Bhat, convener-Panun Kashmir Youth.
Virender Raina in his address said that the statement of the FM is perfectly in tune with the letter and spirit of the unanimous Parliamentary resolution of 1994, the ground realities post Shimla Agreement and the wishes of the people as a whole. The new development of people’s support across LOC about the unification of the J&K State as it existed in August 1947 has added an important dimension to the whole gamut of issues pertaining to the Jammu and Kashmir State. In this connection, the endorsement of the UK Parliamentarian Bob Blackman that abrogation of Art370 and Art35A coupled with reorganisation of the State are matters internal to India is also noteworthy and worth circulation.
Prof. M.L.Raina in his speech appealed to the Government of India to raise the issue of human rights violations and brutal killings of Hindu-Sikh minorities in Pakistan. India has a bounden duty to highlight the plight of the people of Indian origin living anywhere in the world. As the victims of the Muslim majoritarianism, Kashmiri Pandits can feel the pain of these hapless minorities who are living as second and third class citizens in Pakistan.
He also endorsed the stand taken by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, BJP leader and his appeal to the Governor for constitution of the “Kashmir Temples and Shrines Board” in Kashmir. Panun Kashmir fully supports the movement for establishing the Board through a bill or ordinance and the struggle spearheaded by PNBMT in this connection for the last one decade.
