JAMMU, Sept 29: The Political Affairs Committee of Panun Kashmir met at Jammu today to deliberate upon the latest political situation in the State and also the landmark visit of the Prime Minister to the US. The meeting was presided over by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, Panun Kashmir (PK) and attended by Virender Raina, National spokesperson, Upinder Kaul, general secretary, Kamal Bagati, organising secretary, N.M.Gadroo, Vijay Qazi, Ravi Punjabi and Sameer Bhat.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, P K while addressing the meeting said that the landmark visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US has bolstered the confidence of the nationalist populace in the State and we believe that the nation would never compromise with the State sponsors of terror. The principled stand taken by the Prime Minister against the menace of global terrorism and its surrogates in Kashmir has been appreciated by the comity of nations. The distinction between “good terror” and “bad terror” has been demolished effectively on a global stage by India.
It is due to the relentless efforts of India that a comprehensive protocol against terrorism is in the offing by the United Nations and the said protocol would define terrorism and provide a definitive mechanism to deal with it and also the countries sponsoring terrorism.
Virender Raina, national spokesperson-PK said that there is a need to increase vigil on the Mughal road as frequent incidents of bovine smuggling and narcotics trafficking have been reported from that route.
He said the reports coming from Jagti about the incidents of the so-called verification at odd hours is disturbing. A lot of complaints regarding harassment of the inmates of the Township have been received. In the name of repeated verifications, people are unnecessarily harassed. He appealed to the Government to take into account the miseries of the displaced people, their living conditions and the problems of the refugee life and instead ask its authorities to have a humane and problem solving approach and also provide succor to the affected people.
