PK asks political class to desist from putting State into crisis

JAMMU, Feb 11: Panun Kashmir (PK) today expressed concern that the contradictory stand of Central Government and State Government over Article 35A and Art370 is a major concern for everybody under the prevailing situation in the State.
Talking to reporters here PK president, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said the Governments need to come clean on the subjects on an urgent basis.
In this connection, the Central Government has an additional responsibility to advise the State Government to desist from what it is doing or is contemplating to do. PK made an appeal to the political class in the State to desist from putting the State into a grave political and Constitutional crisis.
He said the State Government’s attempt to get the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the finality of Indian Constitution reviewed is also a serious issue of concern for the nationalist constituency of the State. It is strange that a Government elected with a mandate under the Indian Constitution is working against the same Constitution, he added.
The others present in the press conference were Upinder Kaul, general secretary and Sameer Bhat, convener, Panun Kashmir Youth.
Terming the attack on Sunjwan Army camp a cause of serious concern Chrungoo said it can’t be taken as an ordinary issue of security lapse.
He said the demographic change in the area of attack and the presence of Rohangya refugees in the same vicinity of attack are issues of serious concern. The essence of the supreme sacrifices made by the Army personnel need to be taken to logical conclusion. Jammu has undoubtedly assumed the position of the Centre of storm in this context which requires urgent attention and serious redressal.
He said Assembly uproar following the terror attack is also an unprecedented development. Akbar Lone, who is a former Speaker and Minister, raising Pak slogans in the Assembly is a matter of shame and demanded action against him.
