Speaking on the occasion, Prof B L Zutshi while acclaiming the role of Radio Sharda 90.40 and Vijeshwar Panchang said their contribution in linking the Kashmiri Pandits in exile to their culture, civilization and religion is immense.
He said continuity of civilization is very important as many civilizations which had played a great role in the world earlier ended up. The nations which were famous in past for their rich civilization are nowhere at present. He said “We (Kashmiri Pandits) have great link to our roots and we can’t go astray of our roots’’. He asked Shastri Ji to give some space in Jantri that why Kashmiri Pandits only observe the Ashtami fast every month when this practice is not common among Hindus in other parts of the country.
He said Jantri is a symbol of KPs though the community is part and parcel of Hinduism but it has a distinct culture. He said civilizations are always nursed. Kashmiri Hindus have made a great contribution to Indian culture and ethos which was followed by Bengal. He highlighted the role of great scholar Kashmiri Shaivism, Kshemndra in this regard.
