Pilgrim dies of cardiac arrest; 5 injured in road mishap

KATRA, May 7: A  pilgrim from Haridwar died  due to cardiac arrest while on way to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan here today while five pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh were injured when their bus hit a stranded vehicle near Bus Stand Katra.
The male pilgrim,  namely Madan Singh (55), son of  Sant Ram of Anakhi Hatimpur,  district  Haridwar (Uttarakhand),  fell unconscious at Sameer Point when he was on way  to Bhawan with his family. He was rushed to Adhkuwari dispensary where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Later, dead body of the deceased was shifted to CHC Katra for postmortem and other legal formalities.
Meanwhile, five pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh were injured when a bus, they were traveling in, hit a stranded bus at Katra Bus Stand outer region. The bus bearing registration number JK20- 3839, was on the way from Katra to Shivkhori, carrying pilgrims.
The injured were identified as Kuldeep Sharma (23), son of Bhagwan Dass Sharma of Jhansi,  Ram Avtar (37), son of  Ram Milan of Faizabad, Ram Veeti (35), wife of Ram Avtar,  Sarvesh (30), wife of Ram Lakhan of  Faizabad and Kajal (36) wife of Vijay Kumar of  Gurdaspur Punjab.
