SAMBA, Dec 6: Samba police arrested a pickpocket from Bari Brahmana and recovered stolen cash from his possession.
Police said, a written complaint was filed by Mohammad Yameen, S/o Babu Khan Abdul R/o Lumb-Badote, Uttar Pardesh A/P Telli-Basti Brahmana, working as hawker (selling clothes) stating therein that one person who was also working as hawker has stolen his wallet alongwith money from his pocket, when he was on way to home in a bus from Vijaypur to Bari Brahmana.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 292/2020 U/S 382 IPC was registered at P/S Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a Police team of P/S Bari Brahmana apprehended the accused person namely Fiaz Ahmed Sheikh S/o Abdul Rashid, R/o Palpora, Srinagar A/P residing on rented base at Kothi Morh, Bari Brahmana from Bari Brahmana and stolen cash worth Rs 6,949 was recovered from his possession.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
