JAMMU, June 17: Reacting sharply to the up-gradation of Billawar and  Basohli in district Kathua to the status having Addl  Dy Commissioner, Thathri Development Front has termed the same as a pick and  choose policy of the BJP-PDP Coalition Government  ignoring the strong and  genuine claim of other deserving areas.
The Front, in an emergency  meeting,  said that without framing any concrete policy in up-grading such administrative units, the attempts tantamount to appeasing certain political bosses with political considerations as has been done in case of Bhaderwah Sub-Division. “It appears that the present Coalition Government  has surpassed the previous successive Government in doing irrational, illogical and  arbitrary acts purportedly in public interest,” the meet said and  expressed deep concern over the neglect of Thathri Sub-Division,  which comprises of 5 tehsils and deserves to be up-graded  to full fledged district.
The meeting further warned that in case  Thathri Sub-Division is not up-graded like Basohli, Billawar and  Bhaderwah  within 10 days, the public would come on road  blocking Batote-Kishtwar National Highway at Thathri.
