PHEEUF demands release of wages, regularisation

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 25: PHE Employees United Front (PHEEUF) has urged upon the J&K administration to release the pending wages of the daily rated workers and issue orders for their regularisation without any more delay.
In an emergency meeting of the United Front of the PHE employees held here today, under the leadership of Bakshi Singh, Subhash Verm, Balbader Raj, Hoshiyar Singh and others, the members expressed strong resentment over the unnecessary delay being caused by the administration in resolving pending issues of the daily rated workers of PHE Department.
They pointed out that the PHE workers are struggling since long for their regularisation, release of their pending wages of 4-5 years, provision of month-wise wages, but till date nothing was done expcept false assurances. These workers are made to perform duty round the clock but in turn they are getting nothing. They are just being exploited by the Government agency.
They pointed out that a proposal was made to regularise them under SRO-520 during 2018, but neither SRO was implemented, nor the new regularisation policy was framed. Several employees Unions demanded modification in the SRO-520 as it had been rejected by many of them.
The PHEEUF has given ultimatum to the J&K administration till August 28, 2020, stating that if their demands were not addressed, they will come out on the roads and launch agitation. They also sought the intervention of Lt Governor, M K Sinha, pleading that they were only befooled by the previous Governments and have high hope of justice from the new administration under Sinha.
