JAMMU, Apr 27: The PHE Workers Welfare Association (Jammu province) has alleged that a large number of daily rated/ CP workers were without pay for the last 18 to 20 months and their families were facing crisis.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Bakshi Singh- president, the members including general secretary Subash Verma strongly criticised the higher authorities for not clearing the pending wages of the daily rated and CP workers.
They pointed out that the hapless workers are now left with the only option to launch indefinite strike as despite meeting with the PHE Minister and the Chief Engineer, nothing has happened. Rattan Doshi, Manzoor Ali and Varun Dogra were also present.
