JAMMU, Feb 1: PHE Employees United Front (PHEEUF) has alleged that exploitation of the PHE/ Jal Shakti department employees by the Government in J&K continues for the last over 28 years.
Addressing a press conference here today, senior leaders of the United Front including K C Dubey, Bhalbhader Vaid and Rajesh Jamwal said that respective Governments and the present LG’s Administration has failed to address the long pending issues of the PHE workers who are facing exploitation since 28 years. They are given mere false assurances about their regularization and payment of pending wages but nothing happened.
They said after abrogation of Article 370 they had hopes that they would get long awaited justice but despite assurances from the Lt Governor and his advisors, till date nothing happened in this regard. They are performing duties even amidst Covid-19 but they are yet to get justice. Many workers failed to get their wages in time. Pending wages of many workers have not been paid till date for the reason best known to the officers at the helm of affairs but no body asks them.
They alleged that LG administration was also buying time and was not serious in mitigating the sufferings of the PHE workers. The United Front resolved to observed complete strike on Feb 7 (Monday) in all the PHE Divisions and Sub Divisions and if the Government maintained rigid attitude, they will intensify their agitation and also move to Delhi and conduct `Gherao’ of Union Ministers in the Union Capital. They gave 10 days ultimatum to the Government to resolve their issue and prepare concrete roads map for their regularization.
