JAMMU, Oct 28: PHE Workers Welfare Association Jammu province has strongly condemned the role of NC-Congress Coalition Government which has miserably failed to resolve the demands of the PHE workers.
In an emergency meeting of the workers held here under the chairmanship of Subash Verma provincial general secretary, the speakers strongly condemned the role of both the parties for befooling and exploiting the agitating workers. They alleged that the Coalition Government has miserably failed to provided regular wages at the rate of Rs 150 per day to the daily rated, need base and CP workers.
The Association alleged that both Sham Lal Sharma and Abdul Rahim Rather are equally responsible for not resolving the demands of the PHE workers. It alleged that what was the PHE Minister and other Congress Ministers doing in previous Cabinet meetings and why it happened only a few days earlier when Code of Conduct was imposed. It was just drama enacted to get sympathy. The general secretary questioned the Finance Minister that after 1994 NC ruled J&K for over 16 years and what did the National Conference Government regarding regularization of daily rated, need base and CP workers. He asked Rather must clear to the workers that what were the legal hurdles in regularization of these workers.
Mr Verma said the workers can not be befooled any more now during this era. He said that employees and workers would teach lesson to these parties in coming elections.
Prominent among those who addressed gathering included Rattan Doshi, Manzoor Ali, Surinder Kumar, Ram Lubhaya, Ram Parkash, Raju Jamwal, Sanjay Bali and others.
