PHE totally failed to overcome water shortage in Jammu: Kohli

JAMMU, Jan 12: State President of Shiv Sena Dimpy Kohli has urged PHE Department not to demand water tariff from water consumers in March April 2016 as PHE has failed totally to give water as per the necessity of common man. While, addressing the media persons, Dimpy Kohli, Rakesh Gupta, Sandeep Bhagat, G.I Singh and Raj Singh said that Public Health Engineering Department has totally failed to supply water daily two times in Jammu city and its outskirts.
He said that as colonies are increasing day by day but PHE Deptt is not changing its way of working. Dimpy said that no new policies have been made by the PHE Department to streamline and improve the water supply. He said that PHE Department is demanding huge amount of tariff per connection but failed to deliver adequate supply of water to consumers.
Dimpy said that the colonies in the outskirts of Jammu viz. Greater Kailash, Sainik Colony, Kunjwani, Mohinder Nagar, Bantalab, RoopNagar, Chinore, Keran, Barnai and others are worse sufferers as water supply in these areas is very poor and often people of these areas have to purchase water from water tankers which is very costly. He said that in all the seasons Summer as well as winter water supply is very poor.
Dimpy made a strong appeal to PHE officers to improve water supply in whole Jammu province and if they can’t improve the water supply they may not ask people to pay water tariff which is due in March-April 2016.
