JAMMU, May 5: A large number of PHE/ Jal Shakti Department employees and daily rated workers held strong protest demonstration at PHE Complex BC Road Jammu here today for Govt failure to provide salary to the employees for the last three months.
The employees under the banner of Employees United Front assembled outside the office of SE, PHE Mech Urban Circle Jammu in the morning and strated massive protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their demand and also against the senior officers of the department. They alleged that authorities have failed to release the salary of February, March and April, 2022 in favour of the employees and other temporary workers of four PHE Divisions which have been transferred to Jammu Municipal Corporation.
The senior leaders of Employees United front while addressing the gathering criticized the authorities for their inaction. They said the issue was brought to the notice of Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta and also Superintending Engineer concerned but they have failed to resolve the issue. They said the employees and their families have been facing lot of hardships due to non- release of their salaries. It is strange that no one in Jal Shakti or JMC are taking responsibility.
They gave one week’s ultimatum to the UT Administration and said if they failed to release their salary they will observe 12-hour `Kam Chhor Hartal’ on May 12, 2022.
Prominent among those who addressed included Subhash Verma, K C Dubey, Balbhadar Sharma, Rajesh Jamwal, Ajay Sharma, Ravi Hans and others.
