SAMBA, Apr 6: The Water Works (PHE) Employees Association announced new office bearers for Samba unit during one day convention of the organization here today.
State president of the INTUC and provincial president of the Association Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. The president of Samba unit (Division) Surinder Singh presided over and highlighted the problems of the workers of this area, especially with regard to the regularization of the workers. The speakers on the occasion urged upon the new PHE Minister Sham Lal Choudhary to resolve pending issues of the workers. They also demanded enhancement of wages and medical allowance and holding of DPC of all cadre.
Meanwhile, Surinder Singh was unanimously re-elected as president of the Samba unit; Roop Chand, Sat Paul and Kishore Singh as vice presidents; Sanjeev Kumar Advisor; Ashok Kumar general secretary; Varinder Singh, Daulat Ram and Bodh Raj secretaries; Chaman Lal Jeevan Singh and Banarsi Dass as joint secretaries; Kewal Krishan as publicity secretary while Bodh Raj as cashier.
