SAMBA, June 11: The Daily Wagers Association PHE Samba district held a protest demonstration in front of DC Office here, today against the non payment of wages for the last three years.
The demonstration was led by Kulbushan Singh president of the Association. The protestors raising slogans against the authorities demanded immediate release of wages in their favour. They said that the daily wagers are at the verge of starvation as they are discharging their duties without getting the wages for about last three years now.
The protestors said that on the one hand the Government is not paying even the need based wages to them and on the other hand what ever has been sanctioned is too not being paid at time.
The protestors warned to intensify the agitation in case the wages were not paid to time at an earliest. They accused the PHE authorities of showing total callousness towards their plight by not releasing their earned wages for last three years.
