JAMMU, Dec 21: The daily rated and Community Participation (CP) workers of the PHE Department held protest dharna in support of their long pending demands at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here today.
A large number of workers, under the banner of All J&K CP Workers/ DRW Association (Province Jammu) assembled  at Exhibition Ground  today and held protest dharna in support of their demands. The workers from various districts including Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda   participated in the programme.
They were demanding framing of regularization policy for all CP and DRW workers and release of pending wages of nearly 35 months of these workers. They warned to intensify their struggle in near future. The speakers alleged that despite assurances by the concerned PHE Minister, Finance Minister and even the Chief Engineer, their issues have remained unresolved.
Meanwhile, during a conference held at the same venue, these workers decided to frame independent Central Committee  and also resolved to launch joint struggle throughout the province for their common cause.
On this occasion, a Committee was also framed with Kalbhushan Singh as its advisor. The other 16 members of the Central Committee are- Kamlesh Kumar Basotra (Billawar), Rakesh Kumar (Jammu), Raman Khajuria (Hiranagar), Ranjit Singh Raju (Samba), Raj Kumar (Vijaypur), Parvez Ahmed (Gandoh), Subash Chander (Ramnagar), Mohd Aslam (Mendhar-Poonch), Ranjit Singh Katoch (Udhampur), Mohd Mushtaq (Doda), Birbal (Billawar), Daleep Kumar (Jammu), Manjit Singh Kathua, Mohd Shrief (Bari Brahmana),  Dev Kumar Katra and Rajinder Singh (Samba).
