PGTA warns to launch agitation if demands not redressed

JAMMU, Oct 17: Post Graduate Teachers Association (PGTA) warned to launch agitation, if Government failed to redress their genuine demands at the earliest.
A meeting of the association was held under the chairmanship of its convener Naresh Kumar, who while speaking expressed resentment over the blatant violation of some mandatory norms in the recent promotions of incharge lecturers and masters.
Kumar informed that implementation of Supreme Court judgments by the Government while placing incharge Lecturer in Mathematics were thrown to winds during recent promotions of lecturers.
Kumar demanded to issue promotion lists of lecturers in science subject after proper scrutinizing the PG degrees, 10+2+3 pattern/bridge course mandatory for PG and updating seniority list in accordance with rules deleting invalid PG degree holders.
Paramjeet Singh, president of the association criticized the Government in adjustments of newly promoted masters in Doda, Kishtwar and Reasi districts. He said that the recent modification has given a set back to the masters, who have completed more than 2 years of services in other districts.
He said that if their demands were not redressed at the earliest, then the association will launch agitation and for any toward incident, the Government will be responsible.
